Waltz Creative is looking for an exceptional, senior level graphic/web designer to join our team of creative, hard-working, fun-loving marketing experts. Our work environment is thoughtful, communicative and rich in collaboration and creativity.
The ideal candidate can take complex ideas and translate them into visually-compelling solutions across websites, presentations, ads, branding, collateral and environments. You will be responsible for the design and production of branding and logos, websites, social media, marketing collateral, print and digital advertising, presentations, trade shows, emails and more. Our perfect candidate has a deep knowledge of graphic design, typography, layout and at least some familiarity with UI/UX design. You are a self-starting, independent problem-solver with a curiosity and drive to never stop improving.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You are:
- an experienced graphic/web designer with an eye for quality who consistently pushes the boundaries of what design can be
- able to iterate in a fast-paced environment
- someone who accepts and provides constructive feedback
- comfortable and able to execute designs that answer the clients’ objectives and delight users
- well-versed in UI design with an understanding of UX design
- experienced in working with scalable design systems
- highly-skilled in responsive design
- familiar with and understand WCAAG Accessibility Standards
- an agile self-starter, able to contribute to projects with varying levels of direction, and pivot gracefully as project plans shift
- creative but with strong organizational and analytical abilities
- an excellent communicator
- someone with a great attitude who is proactive, highly collaborative and able to work in a dynamic environment
- unafraid to ask questions and to question what is being requested
- able to envision approaches early on and do not always need creative direction
You will:
- concept and/or execute breakthrough creative across all forms of media (print, video, photography, web, motion graphic)
- understand and interpret brand marketing objectives to deliver impactful results
- manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- follow best practices and processes ensuring high quality on every project
- leverage research, analytics and brand insights to inform design decisions
- articulate the creative rationale that drives the concept’s execution and tactics
- proof creative work to ensure a consistent brand look & feel
- seek out learning and personal improvement and applies it to projects
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience as a senior graphic/web designer at an agency
- Mastery of design fundamentals: typography, composition, color, layout
- Experience designing websites and understanding of UX/UI best practices
- A portfolio that demonstrates well-crafted and strategic solutions
- Experience working within established brand systems or establishing brand systems
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD)
- Experience with Premiere, After Effects, Animate is a plus
- BA/BFA in graphic design, with graphic communication or related field
Nice to haves:
- Video production/Motion experience
- UX design experience
- Illustration skills
Physical Demands:
This position spends up to one/fourth of time standing, walking, talking, listening, and reaching with hands or arms, and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. This position spends most of the time using the mouse and focusing on the computer screen.
This position has the following vision requirements:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
- View computer monitor for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours)
Noise levels: Moderate noise (Examples: business office with computers, printers, telephones, light foot traffic)
