A more efficient website experience
The DLC ® is a non-profit organization whose mission is to achieve energy optimization by enabling controllability with a focus on quality, people and the environment.
Waltz designed the UX/UI of the website and MyDLC member portal to better engage website visitors about the DLC’s impact. The website redesign was part of a larger IT integration that included integration with the Quality Product Listing database and Member portal. We worked closely in designing a more intuitive website experience developed by partner VND.

The DLC had outgrown their previous website as they continued to evolve and grow their Quality Product Listing (QPL) into new programs. They sought a robust digital experience that would better serve member organizations and connect with secondary audiences.
We began with a website audit and several planning sessions to understand client objectives and goals. We studied customer profiles and research to develop user personas to guide the UX design.
Working from extensive persona research, we worked with the DLC to map out key user actions and needs. Understanding the workflow for functions like performing a search, qualifying a product and updating a listing allowed us to reorganize the site content. We developed a new content architecture and sitemap. From here we developed wireframes for user testing. The user interface (UI) was developed from the existing DLC Brand Guidelines and optimized to meet current web accessibility guidelines.
MyDLC Member Portal
In addition to the front-end website experience, Waltz worked with VND to design and develop a secure-access member portal. This allows registered users access to gated content and resources. We planned the content architecture, workflow and prototyped various functions.
Since we launched yesterday, we’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the new design and how beautiful and functional it is. We truly appreciate all the time, effort, and talent you put into this project. We are so excited to take advantage of this new design to its full extent.”
