Herff Jones
Empowering Yearbook Sales
The school yearbook market is a pretty specialized niche and to act as an auxiliary marketing team to Herff Jones requires direct knowledge of the market and product. Waltz was the perfect choice as our founder, Kathy Schipper, spent 11 years with Herff Jones, while Client Services Director, Heidi Ash, was with HJ 20 years.

The Herff Jones Marketing team had been working to perfect a presentation for their sales team but the deck wasn't quite what they needed and wanted. Their sales partners are a diverse group of people and needs vary greatly from one sales territory to the next. The deck needed to provide flexibility for each rep to make the deck work for their unique scenarios, while still maintaining consistency and staying true to the brand. We revamped the in-progress presentation and created supporting collateral to go with it. With more than 70 slides packed full of important information, this robust slide deck was no small project.

To further add value for the sales reps who would be using this tool, we incorporated a demo for HJ’s online page creation program, eDesign®, added instructional read-me slides and presenter's notes and created a dynamic, attention-grabbing intro video that taps into the emotion of yearbooks and emphasizes Herff Jones' student-centered approach to the yearbook business.
The final step was creating supporting sales sheets, including writing all of the content and designing them to match the look and feel of the sales deck.

Response from the Herff Jones sales team was overwhelmingly positive and we were thrilled to know that these projects would have an immediate impact and help reps in their sales territories.
In a time when our own creative department needed support, Waltz Creative stepped in and acted as an extension of our own team, adding innovative ideas and designs. They provided a fresh perspective when we needed it most and listened to our desire to support the work that had already been done.”
