Creatives for Community 2020 Grant Winner
Putting the finish line in reach for a local nonprofit.
Quality branding and marketing are often out of reach for small nonprofits. The Creatives for Community design grant program allows us to help nonprofits with design needs they may not otherwise be able to achieve and is something the entire Schipper Design team looks forward to each year.
In 2020, the San Juan Home and School Club was selected from five applicants located throughout San Benito, Monterey, and Santa Cruz counties. The 2020 C4C experience was fun and rewarding for our team, and we are pleased to share this year's results.
The San Juan Home and School Club serves the parents and teachers of San Juan School, however this year, they are reaching out to the community by fundraising for a new community track. The school district established a partnership with the City of San Juan Bautista in the hopes of providing a track and field that benefits local youth and the community.

The Home and School Club started a fundraising site and raised over $25,000 toward their goal of $100,000, but was ready to take their efforts to the next level. We developed a marketing plan to help them sprint forward with a naming strategy, collateral, and some fundraising strategies adapted to current COVID-19 circumstances.

The new marketing plan has helped increase online donations by 44% so far compared to last year's campaign. The San Juan Home and School Club just launched a new email campaign utilizing the professionally designed marketing materials provided by Schipper Design. Excited by the results of this project, the San Juan Home and School Club is in the midst of implementing the campaign strategy.

One of our favorite strategies for this campaign is a branded T-shirt featuring an illustrated San Juan Bautista rooster in running shoes. Designer Sara Campos was inspired by the colorful culture of San Juan Bautista and the motions performed on a track.

An important aspect of this campaign is social media graphics. We wanted to get the community engaged and excited for a new track by sharing content their audience could repost. Envisioning the track with life-like illustrations is also key in showing potential donors the dream.
