Soren Du Preez
Account Manager
“Murphy’s Law is real: anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Learning how to always be prepared, be resilient and achieve maximum results with minimum resources has strengthened my expertise.”
What is your role at Waltz?
Being an account manager is a lesson in diplomacy, which coincides with my background working abroad. It requires a quiet spirit and quick instincts to find answers. When I was hired in 2021, I had recently completed a world tour of working for organizations in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and France. Conducting business in developing markets such as Nigeria and The DRC taught me how to be innovative.
Tell us about your history and experience.
My undergrad degree from Colby College is in international relations and anthropology and my two masters degrees are in international relations & diplomacy and in international business, both from Schiller International University. My education has provided me with an appetite for knowledge and growth, intellectual curiosity, and the skills to embrace diversity, diplomacy and bridge the gap between global perspective and local implementation. In my various professional experiences, I’ve worked across both public and private sectors. My experience spans from The Union World Conference on Lung Health, an annual scientific program hosted by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease to companies such as Clarion Events, IQPC, and dmg events, where I developed and delivered conferences and exhibitions in key African markets such as the DRC, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Angola, Senegal, Tanzania, and South Africa.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
My two greatest passions? Travel and horses. My childhood centered around equitation and my adulthood has centered around travel. I was on horseback before I could walk. For me, both riding and travel are about exploration, connection and sociability. Life is a journey so I guess that both riding and travel are the archetypes of my journey.
What do you like about working at Waltz Creative?
At Waltz, the whole really is greater than the sum of its parts. A passion for innovation and creativity led me here. This company is a veritable think tank for modern thinking, creativity and design.
